Alice TwomeyDietitian

I am Alice, is a registered specialist gastroenterology dietitian, having completed a BSc in Nutritional Sciences and an MSc in Dietetics at King’s College London.

For the last six years, I have worked in a large London teaching hospital specialising in gastroenterology. I have worked in both the acute and outpatient setting caring for those with inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome and other disorders of gut brain interaction, coeliac disease, pelvic floor dysfunction, SIBO, bile acid malabsorption and orofacial granulomatosis. I have also worked in weight management.

Through my work with a multi-disciplinary team, I have become passionate about providing well rounded care for those living with gastrointestinal disorders. I acknowledge the importance of viewing the whole individual, and implementing a holistic approach. Food related quality of life and relationship with food are central factors which I strive to improve with clients, as well as optimising and improving gut health for the long term.

I acknowledges that living with digestive symptoms such as bloating, reflux and abdominal pain amongst others can often be debilitating and negatively impact day to day life.

I am FODMAP trained with King’s College London. I am focused on evidence based and research backed approaches to managing gut conditions. I have contributed to literature in the field, and have been part of a forward thinking and research focused team.
