Omar is a Chartered Consultant Clinical Psychologist who qualified in 2012, he has extensive experience in the area of Adult Mental Health and has worked in various health settings including the NHS, private and corporate sectors; he is proficient in several evidence-based approaches and possess specialist training in the areas of supervision, clinical leadership and working with long-term physical health conditions. Omar has a keen interest in Mindfulness and uses this approach both in his personal life as well in his clinical practice. He is an Honorary Recognised Teacher at Liverpool University’s Division of Clinical Psychology training programme and has published research articles in the areas of parenting and mental health.
Omar’s work is based on his belief that day to day living can and often does involve having to deal with and come into contact with uncomfortable and unpleasant experiences – thoughts, feelings, physical sensations. Omar is a compassionate, warm and approachable individual and is passionate about helping clients apply evidence-based, psychologically informed techniques and strategies to improve their quality of life and mental and physical wellbeing.
