About

I’m Sarah, a registered dietitian and Lead Clinical Specialist in Eating Disorders within the NHS. I specialise in the treatment of eating disorders, disordered eating, ARFID, hypothalamic amenorrhea, and trauma-linked or neurodivergent eating challenges across children, adolescents, and adults.

My practice centres on helping people rebuild a nourishing, trusting relationship with food—especially those living with food fear, confusion, or long-standing patterns of restriction, overwhelm, or shame. My approach is trauma-informed, weight-inclusive, and grounded in Intuitive Eating, IFS, DBT skills, and body image healing.

I also deliver prevention and early-intervention work in primary and secondary schools, supporting teachers and safeguarding teams to recognise warning signs and respond effectively.

Lived experience shapes the compassion I bring to my work: I understand how overwhelming food and body struggles can feel, and I prioritise safety, collaboration, and achievable health behaviours for every client.

Credentials & Training include:

– BSc (Hons) Dietetics, University of Plymouth (First Class)

– Registered with HCPC; Member of the British Dietetic Association

Therapeutic Approach

  • My therapeutic approach is trauma-informed, weight-inclusive, and compassion-led. I support clients of all ages to rebuild trust in their bodies and develop a peaceful, flexible relationship with food. I draw on Intuitive Eating, IFS principles, and DBT-informed skills, helping clients understand the emotional, sensory, and neurodivergent factors that shape their eating patterns. My work is grounded in safety, collaboration, and pacing, recognising that food struggles often reflect coping strategies, trauma histories, or nervous system responses rather than lack of willpower.

I take a neurodiversity-affirming approach to ARFID, restrictive eating, binge–restrict cycles, and hypothalamic amenorrhea, adapting support to sensory needs and executive functioning. Body image healing is woven throughout, focusing on respect, embodiment, and reducing shame. Above all, my practice is warm, relational, and non-judgemental, offering clients a safe space to feel seen and supported.
