Dietitian
I am Amy, a specialist dietitian in IBD with extensive experience across the NHS and academic research. I am currently completing a PhD at King’s College London, investigating the role of diet and the gut microbiome in IBD activity and treatment response.
I hold a first-class Master’s degree in Nutrition and a Postgraduate Diploma in Dietetics from King’s College London. I began my career at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, where I specialised as an upper gastrointestinal surgical dietitian for over four years. I have extensive experience managing patients pre and post oesophagectomy, gastrectomy, hepato-pancreato-biliary surgery as well as chemotherapy and radiotherapy. I then moved into research, working as a dietitian on a randomised controlled trial in Crohn’s disease. Through this work and my PhD, I have developed specialist expertise in working with patients with Crohn’s disease.
I am a FODMAP-trained through King’s College London and expertly support patients to manage symptoms of functional GI disorders such as diarrhoea, constipation, bloating and reflux. I have a strong interest in women’s health and fertility, having completed the Fertility Nutrition Course for Healthcare Professionals. My approach combines motivational interviewing with highly personalised, evidence-based care to help patients get the most out of their treatment.
